Interested in learning more about the Self-Determination Program (SDP), where CA families are able to flexibly spend funds for their loved ones with IDD (intellectual and developmental disabilities)? Find out if SDP is right for you and your loved ones

We will be hosting a panel discussion with families who have successfully navigated the process of entering the Self-Determination Program (SDP). Through SDP, families with loved ones who have intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) are able to have much more control over the spending of their public California funds to better suit their personalized needs and goals. 

Families will share their firsthand experiences and valuable insights into the advantages and challenges of the SDP process, as well as how they decided to enter the program. Families will discuss: 

  • SDP versus traditional – why choose SDP?
  • The application journey
  • Ongoing management
  • Pros and cons of the program for families and case managers

This event is designed for families learning about the program, families looking for advice on managing SDP, and regional center case managers looking for best practices to better serve their clients. The hope is that this webinar will provide the knowledge and tools to help you make informed decisions for your loved ones or clients. Please also feel free to bring any questions you may have to our open Q&A at the end!
