Quick summary
Our Role: We are Independent Facilitators. We help you plan and navigate the Self-Determination Program (SDP); we do not manage your money or employ your caregivers. No Medical/Legal Advice: Our Site provides educational info, not clinical or legal counsel.
No Payments: We do not collect payments or credit card info on this Site.
Your Control: In the SDP, you (the participant) are the boss. You choose your own providers; we just help you find them.
1. Acceptance & Authority
By using NeuroNav.org, you agree to these terms. If you are using this site on behalf of a participant (e.g., as a parent, conservator, or legal guardian), you represent that you have the legal authority to act on their behalf.
2. Description of Facilitation Services
NeuroNav (Neurodiversity PBC) provides services as defined under California Welfare & Institutions Code § 4685.8. This includes:
- Person-Centered Planning (PCP): Helping you identify your goals.
- Independent Facilitation: Assisting with budget negotiations, identifying service providers, and navigating the Regional Center system.
3. Professional Boundaries (What we are NOT)
- Not an FMS: We are not a Financial Management Service. We do not hold your budget, process payroll, or pay your providers.
- Not an Employer: We do not employ the caregivers or therapists you choose. You are the employer or contractor for those services.
- No Liability for Third Parties: While we help identify providers, we do not "vet" or guarantee their performance. You are responsible for interviewing and selecting your own support team.
4. No Guarantee of Outcomes
While we fiercely advocate for our clients, NeuroNav does not guarantee specific outcomes. Final approval for Individual Budgets and Spending Plans rests solely with your Regional Center and the Department of Developmental Services (DDS).
5. Mandated Reporting Disclosure
Under California law, NeuroNav staff are mandated reporters. We are legally required to report any suspected abuse or neglect of children, elders, or dependent adults to Adult Protective Services (APS), Child Protective Services (CPS), or law enforcement.
