Determining if you’re eligible for California Regional Center Services

If you are not currently a California Regional Center client, the first step to becoming one is to determine if you are eligible. Eligibility is based on having a developmental disability that originated before the age of 18 and that is likely to continue indefinitely.

We can only provide our services to individuals who are already clients of the California Regional Center, so find you how to get started with the process below.

Steps to Becoming a California Regional Center Client

If you meet this criterion, you can follow these steps to become a California Regional Center client:

  1. Find your local Regional Center by visiting the Department of Developmental Services website and entering your zip code. You can also call the Department of Developmental Services at (916) 654-1690.
  2. Contact your local Regional Center to schedule an intake appointment. You will need to provide information about your developmental disability and the services you need.
  3. Attend your intake appointment, during which you will meet with a Regional Center representative to discuss your needs and determine if you are eligible for services.

If you are found eligible, you will work with your Regional Center to develop an Individual Program Plan (IPP) that outlines the services and supports you need.

How Long Does It Take to Become a California Regional Center Client?

This process can take several weeks or even months, but it is worth the effort to access the services and support you need to achieve your goals. Once you have become a California Regional Center client, we invite you to come back to our website to sign up for a free consultation with one of our certified planners. We would be happy to discuss your specific needs and explore how NeuroNav can help you set a path toward long-term dreams and actionable goals.
