Hi, my name is Carolina
I started off as a case manager working with individuals in the mental health field. Many of the people I supported also had an intellectual disability, which led me to collaborate closely with regional center staff. Building good relationships with them sparked my interest in shifting to that work full time. The more I learned about the Self-Determination Program, the more I knew this was the direction I wanted to go.
What is important to me...
Individuals and families deserve someone who actively listens and truly understands their core goals and desired outcomes, while providing meaningful opportunities for growth, learning, and safety.
I am known for...
Being supportive and an advocate. I listen to what people need and how they are feeling, find an approach that supports their needs, and make sure they understand the services and supports available to them.
I really enjoy...
Spending meaningful, quality time with my family and friends. I'm committed to creating enriching learning experiences for my children and making sure they are surrounded by people who support their growth and wellbeing.
Experience
Before joining NeuroNav, Carolina worked at Frank D. Lanterman Regional Center as a service coordinator. She then joined the Department of Developmental Services as a Community Program Specialist III on the Self-Determination Program team, where she worked on the policy and implementation of SDP statewide. That experience gave her a deep understanding of the program from the inside out, and it shapes how she supports individuals and families navigating SDP today.
